I remember my first semester in the BSW program and thinking that I had finally found my calling – and my people! I loved that social work was a political profession and in complete congruence with my own values and ethics. Professors that were instrumental to my success were Judith Dunlop, Dermot Hurley, Ken Gordan, Laura Beres and many others. I remember amazing and inspirational travel experiences – learning about social issues in other parts of the world and how social work can contribute in the lives of individuals, families, and communities. I also met my best friend in the program and to this day she is like a sister to me – someone who can share in the trials and tribulations of daily work as a social worker.
