Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE)

The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs at King’s University College at Western University are accredited by the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE).  Students in the professional programs are eligible for student membership in the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) which is a member of the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW).  These Associations are part of the international community of social work practitioners.

Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)

The OCSWSSW is responsible for regulating the practice of Social Work and protecting the public interest under terms of the Social Work and Social Service Work Act.  Social work practice is also regulated in all other provinces.  College membership requires completion of a degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the CASWE. King’s Social Work degrees are recognized by equivalent bodies in other Canadian Provinces, the United States and other countries.

The Voice of Social Work in Ontario. The Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) is a bilingual organization that provides a voice for social workers in Ontario. OASW has approximately 5200 members and 14 branches across the province.

International Association of Schools of Social Work

The International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) is an international association of institutions of social work education, organisations supporting social work education and social work educators. Members of IASSW are united in their obligation to the continued pursuit of social justice and social development. In carrying out its mission, IASSW fosters cooperation, collegiality and interdependence among its members and with others.
